For fashion lovers the temporary showroom from Clemens en August was the most important fashion event this weekend in Frankfurt. While eating fingerfood, trinking champagne, having the possibility to speak with the designer Alexander Brenninkmeijer you could take a look at the latest collection and of course buy your favourite pieces. Jennine from The Coveted, Jérome from La Liste de Desiderata, Tina from L* ETOILE PR, Ulrich from Fashionfreax, Jacky from Briseis, the CocoLores Ladies and Mizi from Mizis Madness joined the opening event on Thursday aswell.

Designer from Frankfurt: Nina Hollein

At the moment Nina Hollein presents her first collection (women & kids wear) in germany and neighbour countries in galleries. What you can say about Nina Holleins clothing is primarily: it is sustainable. The materials are robust and washable again and again without losing quality.As you can see these facts especially get important for the kids collection. The visitors shoes

Thursday night it was the opening of Clemens en August temporary showroom at DesignFFM in Frankfurt. A complete post about this event will follow but today take a look at the shoes from some visitors. Red shoes belong to Jennine from The Coveted, ballett flats belong to Oahn and boots to Mone.

Frankfurt eyes on: JB Space Berlin

Today Frankfurt Fashion takes a look at the label JULIAANDBEN and the reopening of a store called JB Space. Julia and Ben is a label from Berlin and they do Avantgarde Fashion. Their store in middle of Berlin is in a tumbled down building. Here meets Avantgarde Fashion raw industry building. After a first inofficial opening with a designers sale in collaboration with Berlin Fashionweek and projektGalerie in July 2008, a few items from JULIAANDBEN a few items from JULIAANDBEN plus selected single pieces from big name Designers remained in the store and it quickly became an insider tip for friends of young and progressive fashion. After 8 months now it`s time for JB-Space to grow up and come up with a new more professionel look and a big reopening bash. Located right in the Middle of Berlin Mitte near the Metrostation „Oranienburger Tor“ right across the corner of the famous Friedrichstrasse JULIAANDBEN sell their own collection and those of other Berlin based Designers aswell as 2nd and 3rd season items from Big Names such as Proenza Schouler, Bruno Pieters and Hussein Chalayan. JB-Space offers women’s as well as men’s collections combining clean-classic chicness and edgy street couture. Reopening of the store will be on Saturday, 28th of March in Torstrasse 230, Berlin with a party.

Vernissage whim! on Friday, 27. March

Vernissage whim! sounds of silence. Opening Friday, 27.03.2009, 19:00 at Saasfee* Pavillon (Bleichstrasse 64-66) in Frankfurt. Sound of Silence is an exhibition by Petra Eichler (architect) and Susanne Kessler (artist & producer). Visit their website to get first impressions of the exhibition. If you don´t have time on Friday you have the chance to visit the exhibition from Tuesday - Saturday between 17:00 - 20:00 the following week.

Stanley Brinks & Freschard concert at Hafen 2

Hafen 2 in Offenbach is well known for its parties and nice relaxed summer evenings outside the building. But more over that it is an institutian for independent bands and singers from all over the world. Coming Saturday Hafen2 open its doors for Stanley Brinks (Andrey Herman Düne) and Freschard. Andre Herman Dune and Freschard met in Paris. He wrote a few songs for her to sing. She called her first E.P. “Neon Orange”. Homeless in Paris, she saved up just enough money to get herself a ticket to New York. There she found an old electric guitar and started writing her own material to record her second record. In 2004 she moved to Berlin, where she recorded her first LP, "Alien Duck", with a mix of electronic and acoustic sounds. Her second album, "Click Click", recorded in 2006, features a drummer and electric guitars by Stanley Brinks. On her third album, “moonstone”, she plays the drums herself. Concert will take place on Saturday, 28th of March in Hafen 2. Entry is 10 Euro and the doors will be open at 21:00 o´clock. Concert starts at 21:45.

Vintage in Frankfurt Part II

Frankfurt Fashion is looking for vintage shops in Frankfurt at the moment. Found this one Coco First and Secondhand Boutique in Schäfergasse 20, Frankfurt. The sortiment at the moments looks quite nice. Accessoires, shoes and a lot of vintage clothes aswell some new stuff.

Lichter Filmtage - first review

The opening of the 2nd. Lichter Filmtage Frankfurt on Thursday night was just great. The first movie of the festival "Endstation der Sehnsüchte" by the Taunus based producer Sung-Hyung Cho was a good start. Afterwards the freitagsküche opened in the festival centrum in Stephanstrasse 1 with typically Frankfurt food, music by Jan Hagenkötter and some champagne. But find the complete resume in some days. Lichter Filmtage Frankfurt 19. - 22. March

Lichter Filmtage Frankfurt is a film festival for Frankfurt and the Rhein-Main-Region in the time from 19.03.- 22.03.2009. Started in 2007 the idea was to start a tradition, ignite the public´s curiosity for the filmmaking in their region, and bring together a community of filmmakers and viewers. Now it´s the second time and the Lichter Filmtage will take place in Turm cinema in Frankfurt city. Besides the cinema the core of the festival is the "freitagsküche" (from thursday to saturday), an unconventional kind of restaurant where on friday night a crew of culinary aficionados cook original, authentic and affordable menue. And beside food and cinema there will be party on Friday night with We don´t need another hero. Find the programm soon here. Frankfurt Fashion will also give away some cinema tickets!

new club in town: Dora Brilliant

Frankfurt has a new club for techno-, house- and minimal music. On Saturday, 07.03.2009 opended Dora Brilliant (former Cantina, next to Tanzhaus West) the doors. Next party will be on Saturday, 14.03.2009 KOMPUTERLIEBE with Mark Moore (kitsune/s-express), Billie Ray Martin (disco activisto/s-express) and many more. Location: Gutleutstrasse 294, Frankfurt.

Frankfurt Fashion visits: Das Eis

Spring is already coming. A good time to test some refreshing icecream in Frankfurt. So, Frankfurt Fashion tested Das Eis (Hasengasse 1-3, next to Kleinmarkthalle). To say it first: Everything from A to Z is organic! Even the fruits for the icecream travel with a ship and not with an airplane because of our environment. What we tested: Hot chili-pepper soup with a cold scoop of pepper-cream icecream, raspberry icecream smoothie and really all sorts of icecream. After 2 hours eating, drinking and testing icecream we decided to love it! Eating healthy in an nice, relaxed environment, modern basic interior, mixed visitors and a nice crew. Frankfurt Fashion reads: Part IV

ACHTUNG - Zeitschrift für Mode. Bilingual (english/german) Magazin from Berlin about Fashion. Published 2 times in a year. This issues with fashion topics from New York to Berlin, with fashion labels as Jil Sander aswell Bernhard Willhelm and a lot of Berlin spirit. In Frankfurt it´s very hard to find a well sorted newspaper kiosk. Find international magazines and german fashion magazins in international book shop in Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, Buchhandlung Walther König (Domstr.6, Frankfurt) or American Apparel (Kaiserstraße 23, Frankfurt).

nsi in concert 06.03.2009

nsi (non standard institute) is a cooperation between Tobias Freund (Sieg über die Sonne) and Max Loderbauer. Theyself says that theier "music range from convulsive experimentation to ultra-minimal techno, from test-tone fugues to electro-acoustic improvisation involving piano and electronic processing". On Friday, 06.03.2009 they do their live performance (playing music from their forthcoming album "either way") in Saasfee Pavillon. Entry: 10 euro. Doors open: 20:00 o´clock.
