Moloko Frankfurt

rote Bar

319, 60385 Frankfurt.

hot summer day

It´s known that Germans like to speak about the weather. Also Frankfurt Fashion won´t let this theme unnoticed and will dedicate it an article. To get cool you have to have ice cream, which you can enjoy without a bad conscience in Hasengasse 1-3, because it´s all from biological products. In Nordend you can go to well known Eis Christina. For all, who live a little bit more directed to Taunus, Eiscafe Monza (Berliner Str. 31, Eschborn) is the right choice. Beside original italian ice cream you get small Pizza fresh from the oven, homemade sandwiches and daily chainging business lunch. More hints about good ice cream can be left in the commentaries.

For me one of the highlights of Nordend is located just at "the bottom", in the southeast corner of the quarter: Café Kante on the corner Kantstraße/Musikantenweg. Firstly because it is quite different than the otherwise fully "Frankfurt"-styled cafés with their coolish lounge atmosphere. Café Kante looks like 50 years ago. And secondly, the opening hours. At 7am you can already get a cup of coffee (which you will desperately need). This brings us to the flipside of the coin: late risers does not necessarily find a place (and you cannot make reservations!). But you can buy one of the most delicious "Hörnchen" (kind of a croissant) in Frankfurt and take them with you to the Chinese garden just at the bottom of Berger Straße. By the way my second favourite place in Nordend.

Shops in Frankfurt: Conmoto

"Why are you not staying in berlin with your shop" David and his collegue are asked from time to time by visitors in their Combishop Conmoto (Wallstrasse 22, Frankfurt). Besides fancy sneakers and Freitag shoulder bags you can drink a good, strong coffee or watch on saturdays matches of Eintracht Frankfurt. And to answer the question of the beginning, why they opened their store of all things here and not in Berlin David says with the friendly Frankurt local patriotism that Frankfurt has still too little of such individual concepts and one has to be the first to move something.

Table - new Schirn Kunsthalle restaurant

Last Thursday the new restaurant Table opened it doors for editors to look around the new restaurant beside Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt. Since Friday, 17.04.2009 doors are open for everybody. Food by Nykke and Kokki. Interior by Studio Nitzan Cohen. By the way, Nitzan Cohen (second picture) was very likable and explained his concept of the restaurant very well in a relaxed way. The concept of the restaurant sounds really interesting: Every now and then the restaurant will change its interior and design concept - project is called "The ongoing project". Table restaurant, next to Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, Römerberg. Lunch, Café, Bar, Cocktails and Dinner.

Frankfurt eat & drink: Avalesque

Avalesque. What a name. Well, but what´s behind? It´s a Kebab house! For years there wasn´t any Kebab shop in the posh part of Frankfurt - Westend. Now, this area has it´s own Kebab shop called Avalesque. But, of course not one of the kind of Kebab shops you find near Konstablerwache. This one looks more like a good restaurant or bar. Dark wooden tables, leather chairs and aswell enough space to sit outside. But of course, good looking is "not everything". How is the taste? Really good! Fresh bread, fresh salad and lamb. Location: Fürstenbergerstrasse 168, Frankfurt - Westend, near Uni Campus Westend.

Frankfurt Fashion visits: Das Eis

Spring is already coming. A good time to test some refreshing icecream in Frankfurt. So, Frankfurt Fashion tested Das Eis (Hasengasse 1-3, next to Kleinmarkthalle). To say it first: Everything from A to Z is organic! Even the fruits for the icecream travel with a ship and not with an airplane because of our environment. What we tested: Hot chili-pepper soup with a cold scoop of pepper-cream icecream, raspberry icecream smoothie and really all sorts of icecream. After 2 hours eating, drinking and testing icecream we decided to love it! Eating healthy in an nice, relaxed environment, modern basic interior, mixed visitors and a nice crew. Here you find some more pictures of our icecream testing.
